Running slowly backwards on April 11 1967 at Blisworth. All the engines at this quarry faced south, so they hauled their loads from the SMJ sidings uphill chimney first.You can see a lot more Northamptonshire ironstone mines pictures on my Flickr…

My collection of books specifically about the SMJ totals just seven - and two of these are versions of the same book. But if you are thinking of starting a collection of SMJ books, which ones should you buy?
